Desktop Replacement Design

Dell Inspiron i5559-1080BLK isn’t a premium desktop replacement, but the laptop’s case still looks gorgeous and feel more expensive than they really are. The black glossy finished lid cover with a small Dell logo on the center make it looks more sturdy than its competitors. The black full-size keyboard doesn’t feature a backlit technology, but it’s still accurate and comfortable for working with a large document and MS Excell. As a desktop replacement, the 7.4 lbs Dell laptop which measure at 11.2 x 16.4 x 1.2 inches is too bulky for a travel companion. It is also thicker and heavier than an average 17.3-inch laptop in the market.

Like standard modern desktop replacement, this model also equipped with a front-facing HD web camera and internal digital microphone for face to face video communications. The internal Dell’s stereo speakers produce an average loud and crisp sound. For better audio experience, the external stereo speakers can be easily attached via the audio combo stereo jack on the side of the notebook.

Another selling point is a Tray load DVD Drive on the left side. You can load and burn more media files from CDs and DVDs cassettes. You also can transfer photo, music, document and other files to another device via the Bluetooth and USB ports (2 x USB 2.0 and single USB 3.0 for faster connection). Other Dell Inspiron i5559-1080BLK laptop’s features are HDMI port, multi-in-one card reader, Kensington Lock slot and WiFi 802.11ac for wireless internet connection. Every Inspiron 17.3-inch notebook also preinstalled with a trial version of Microsoft Office and McAfee CB LiveSafe.

This laptop is powered by a 4-Cell removable Lithium Ion battery delivers long battery life (lasted more than 8 hours on battery test). Yeah, the Dell i5559-1080BLK is not the most powerful 17.3-inch desktop replacement. The graphics performance also disappointed and not supported for modern 3D games and 3D graphics tasks. But in the sub-$500 laptop class, Dell Inspiron i5559-1080BLK is still the best 17.3-inch notebook you could find. With a starting price only around at $ 419, the new Dell Inspiron laptop delivers a pretty good value for your money. If you are on the market for a 15-inch notebook, you should check the HP 15-AY015DX “Blue” laptop.
